Well here it is again, the semi-annual death by stupidity contest where we try and kill off as many of those loud #$%^& Harley's as we can. Cars pulling out in front of seemingly non existent motorcycles and bikers that think they can drink without repercussion. Reading the local papers/watching the local television seems more like a sports box score than real flesh and bleeding bipeds. "It's a good rally this year only three died so far" is heard more often than is comfortable.
Alright so maybe I am being a little bit harsh. So what's my problem with the rally? I don't ride a motorcycle (never have) no real reason for not I just never have. I don't understand what it means or feels like to ride free or the exhilaration of accelerating from zero to sixty in the blink of an eye, although I must admit it looks fun. Being a child of the 60s doesn't help the free spirit within. So back to my problem, I supposed I don't want to end up on the side of the road underneath some pickup truck. It's one thing to run into a tree or wall, its another to have somebody pull out in front of you because they weren't looking for a motorcycle to be on the road.
I live and work in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina home to the rally.
